The Rental
Housing Association of Berkshire County
(RHABC) is a group of landlords and
associates from around the county. The
number of units a landlord owns is not a
factor in the association. Typically, they
own anywhere form 1 to 100
apartments. The organization is run by
member volunteers who donate their time to
support your rights. –Additional volunteers
are always welcomed.
Members have access to the member only
section of the website where they can list
their rental units for free. The website is
advertised DAILY in the local circulations
and ads are paid for by the association. The
website is continually evolving with new
information always being added.
There are also links to numerous websites
for quick and easy access. Links such as the
state sanitary code, and security deposit
law and many more.
There are downloadable files including:
sample forms, eviction process outline, a
security deposit outline, members list,
newsletters, notification forms, landlord
and management tips, screening tips and
more. Members receive a monthly news letter,
which contains information about ongoing
landlord/ tenant issues. Issues including
legislation, courts new state and federal
laws.
There is a monthly membership meeting which
covers a wide variety of topics and
speakers. Speakers include judges,
attorneys, state and local agencies, trades
people and many others depending on what
issues are at hand. Topics vary from
evictions, security deposits, lead laws,
drugs, taxes etc.
